Jamie Murray and his Brazilian doubles partner Bruno Soares are one step closer to being crowned World No.1 after beating veterans Bob and Mike Bryan 6-3 6-4 in the ATP World Tour Finals last night.
“We both really enjoy being out here, playing in front of a lot of people, on a great court in the biggest tournament of the year,” Murray told the BBC.
Murray and Soares are now 175 points behind Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut, who they could overtake at the top of the rankings during the tournament.
It would certainly be a fitting end to a golden year for the Brit and his partner – in which they picked up two Grand Slams at the Australian and US Opens.
They will take on Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo in their final group game tomorrow.
