It wasn’t straightforward and, at times, it certainly wasn’t pretty, but Andy Murray managed to scrape past Milos Raonic 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a draining epic earlier today.
The tendon-straining win leaves the World No.1 on the brink of a mouthwatering final with Novak Djokovic – if the Serb beats Kei Nishikori in the second semi-final, which is currently taking place.
The tie would be a straight showdown to finish the season as World No.1 and Djokovic will be looking to capitalise on Murray’s potential tiredness after a string of hard-fought victories.
However, as he has consistently demonstrated, the Brit will do everything to cling onto the crown, which means the fans at the O2 Arena in London may be treated to yet another classic.
